Who we are:
Unlike a typical hotel or resort or a cottage, The Hideout Hiraeth is a brand of offbeat stays which bring together the youthful vibe of backpacker hostels and the warmth of homestays to eventually offer a wholesome yet unconventional travel experience for people who love the idea of travelling without any filters.
Our story:
The Hideout Hiraeth was started in June 2021 [yes, in the Covid-19 times] by two travel writers working for a travel company in New Delhi with an aim to create and sustain a brand of accommodation that’s more suitable for backpackers and open-minded travellers who are ready to experience travel in its unfiltered form.
So, what’s unique about The Hideout Hiraeth
Well, here at The Hideout Hiraeth, we offer a standardised concept of accommodation which brings together the warmth of a homestay and the youthful vibe of a backpacker hostel to create a wholesome yet unconventional travel experience for travellers who want more than just a place to stay with good food. At The Hideout Hiraeth, we believe in creating an environment where people can have fun, exchange stories, make some friends, and leave with everlasting memories.
Additionally, the offbeat yet convenient location of The Hideout Hiraeth, the peaceful surroundings, the sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, the company of like-minded travellers, and the delectable food options (meals and a la carte menu) might just tempt you to keep coming back to stay with us 🙂
For who all:
Our accommodation categories include Mixed Dormitories, Female Dormitories, Tents, and Private Rooms. The Hideout Hiraeth offers lively and homely stays with an exquisite social experience meant for adults (solo travellers, small groups, and couples but not for families or guests less than 18 years of age).
Glimpses of a day at The Hideout Hiraeth:
A rough outlay of a typical day for the Team Hideout Hiraeth starts with braving the chilly morning of the mountains with a piping hot chai, followed by thorough cleaning and dusting of the place.
This is usually followed by welcoming the incoming guests and helping them get through the check-in procedure depending on the timings. Once morning meals are done, the staff usually gets busy in getting the laundry done on sunny days, the check-ins and check-outs, preparing and cleaning the rooms and dormitory, and occasionally bathing our beloved doggo named Riley.
As the day progresses, we often take our guests for a walk, or a hike if they have time and energy for that. Lazy afternoons can slow the days down, but the team members have to be ready to help the travellers with whatever possible they can. Some travellers simply like to work, and some just want to chat about the place and exchange experiences, which we are always up for. Later parts of the afternoons are reserved for getting stuff from the nearby markets for two reasons;
a.)We prefer getting fresh items in out kitchen,
b.) gives us a reason to take a walk.
Here, we also love playing cricket, darts, bonfire nights in the lawn area, board and card games in the common area, and movie nights as well, depending on what’s the mood of the people we are hosting.
P.S: We get all this energy from the homely food that’s prepared at The Hideout Hiraeth.
Our QUEST:
The work ethics of The Hideout Hiraeth team include 5 major pillars: Quality, Uniqueness, Experience, Safety, Trustworthiness. These simply make it a Q.U.E.S.T to be a better version of ourselves everyday, just so we can make our place feel like home for every traveller, and of course, ourselves!
Till now, The Hideout Hiraeth has hosted over 1000 travellers from all parts of the world who have gone back with some really great memories. The positive reviews across various platforms online by travellers who stayed with us is a testament to our genuine efforts to our Q.U.E.S.T.
Our vision:
Though we believe in living life by caring most about what’s happening in the present, our goal is to create a community where people from different walks of life are connected through shared experiences, values, interests, and journeys. We are on a journey to inspire people to travel not just to tick off destinations or stay and eat at places for social media, but rather more for all the intense learnings and experiences that come with travel.
